Study with Don Alverto Taxo at the Loma de Ensueños

Loma de Ensueños is a unique place located on a much-eroded hillside in the Cotopaxi region of Ecuador. The hill carries a special energy from the prayers and ceremonies of connection performed there over many years. The property has an expansive vista, including both Mt. Cotopaxi and Mt. Tungurahua, and at night, millions of stars. It is the site of a land reclamation project, teaching center and future eco-community.

Group or individual study with Don Alverto Taxo at the Loma de Ensueños is available by individual arrangement. Travel to sacred places in Ecuador with Don Alverto is also an option for part or all of the time.
Costs: $500 per week studying with Don Alverto at the Loma de Ensueños; includes meals, study and one individual cleansing ceremony. Accomodations are additional from $25-$50 per night at the Loma de Ensueõs or nearby hotel.
Cost for travel days with Don Averto is $100 per day plus all expenses of food, lodging and travel for yourself, Don Alverto and his family,, All costs of flights to and from Ecuador, any other travel expenses within Ecuador as well as 2 nights accomodations in a hotel in Quito ($35-$50/night) are additional.

Study with the Santillans at the Center for Andean Ancestral Wisdom

The Center is situated on an ancient site (approx 1500 year old) of ceremonial gathering and wisdom, near the city of Otavalo in the northern part of Ecuador. It was recently created to be a place for the renewal, sharing and practice of Andean ancestral wisdom and culture, both practical and spiritual. The fruit of this practice is a daily life lived with happiness and in harmony with all of life.Your guides will be Mama Achik Rosa Maria Santillán, Oscar, Guillermo and Rumi Santillán, Laura Santillán and Luis Chimba, the visionaries and creators of the Center, people who are passionately living and sharing the beauty, depth and power of the ancient ways of their people in their daily lives.

In-Depth Study (Option A)

A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in ancient Andean wisdom & practices guided by the Santillán family and tailored to your interests
•Andean healing practices, including hydrotherapies & herbal medicinal baths
•Healing Music of the Andes
•Andean instrument making
•Principles & practices of healthy cooking in the Andean tradition
•Kuyuri – exercises to strengthen & balance the physical & energetic bodies, and to activate the Ushai, the sacred inner power
•Visits to sacred places in nature & participation in ceremonies to connect with nature and the elements
•Ancient Andean philosophy & cosmovision which emphasizes experiencing the sacred in each moment of daily life

Option A includes daily study with the Santillans, including trips to sacred places in nature and ceremonies there, study of ancient Andean healing practices, exercises, cooking and other aspects of daily life and daily teaching on Andean wisdom and culture.

$135 per day not including airfare between US & Ecuador. Additional cost of $100 for transportation from and to Quito airport, and 1-2 nights stay in a Quito hotel ($35-$50/night). Included are daily study, accomodations at the Center and 3 home-cooked vegetarian meals per day. Airfare between the US & Ecuador is NOT included.

Your own schedule (Option B)

Using the warm hospitality of the Santilláns as home base, explore the vibrant culture and natural beauty of your surroundings.

Option B includes accomodations and 3 home-cooked vegetarian meals per day. You may also arrange for sight seeing trips with the Santillans at $60 per day. This option does not include intensive immersion and study of ancient Andean wisdom. It does provide for an insider’s experience of indigenous life in Ecuador in the warmth of a beautiful family, with flexibility to set your own schedule of activities – on your own or with the help of the Santillan family.

$35/day for accomodations & meals only, not including airfare between US & Ecuador, plus $60 per day that you request the Santilláns as your guide for day trips. Additional cost of $100 for transportation from and to Quito airport, and 1-2 nights stay in a Quito hotel ($35-$50/night).
